Capitol Briefing: Opportunities for Using and Sharing Mobility Data to Support Planning, Policy, and Research

EVENT OVERVIEW: Experts from the UC Institute of Transportation Studies will highlight findings from two recent issue briefs exploring the opportunities, challenges, and trade-offs with using and sharing data generated by new mobility service providers (e.g., Transportation Network Companies, bikeshare, scooter share). Speakers will provide real world examples of questions practitioners, policymakers, and/or researchers can address using mobility data and discuss whether the data needed to address these questions is available based on data specifications and/or data sharing practices currently in place. Policy approaches and models for sharing mobility data between the private and public sectors will also be discussed.
